Case Study

Historically WECS are industry leaders in servicing and repairing welding equipment. When they approached Castus, they wanted to review the possibility of extending their services from B2B to B2C also.

As WECS are a major distributor for a number of the worlds leading welding brands they stock in excess of 10,000 products so the size of the site could be limited.

Castus suggested and executed the following:

  • An industrial design that would be welcoming to both businesses and consumers.
  • 3 simple navigation areas separated into site information, products and corporate information.
  • A Content Management System supported by an e-commerce solution to control all aspects of online sales.
  • Advice on payment processors and e-merchant suppliers.
  • A ‘What to Buy’ guide offering advice to consumers that are new welding.
  • Dual payment facility allowing select customers to be set up as ‘Gold Card’ customers and billed external to the online payment facility.

The new website has seen a phenomenal growth in unique visitors. For example May 2007 produced a 2458% increase on May 2006 under their previous site.

The relationship between Castus and WECS has continued to mature and we are happy to still be involved in the evolvement of their website ensuring that it continues to meet the requirements of their customers.
