Stand out with pull-quotes
Written by Gary HidesMaking your content stand out and readable is one major hurdle your site must overcome before it can be successful. Pull quotes (or breakout boxes) is a major way of achieving this goal.
Follow your instincts
Pull quotes are a fantastic way to give users a snippet of what the page content is all about, as well as nicely breaking up the site text and adding style to your page.
As soon as your, or one of your site's visitors hits a page on your site an instant impression is made. The eye is drawn in to certain elements on the page, and the decision is made, in a matter of milliseconds, to either carry on reading or click back and start their information search all over again - most likely on a different site altogether.

Daily intake
If you think about it, if you read a newspaper or web sites like the BBC's on a daily basis, you will be reading from pull-quotes everyday. Obviously it's nothing new, so if all of the top media outlets are in on the pull-quote game, don't you think you ought to be? No matter whether you're a fishing tackle salesman or a hairdresser, if you have a web site, pull quotes can add to your impact instantly!
